YOUR FORTE is a premiere shopping destination in historic downtown Atlantic, Iowa. Here you will find supplies and inspiration for whatever your forte is. This contemporary haven of creatives is owned and operated by Stephanie. Stephanie herself has many interests and fortes. She is a painter, published author, and has spent 13 years as a teacher of math. (And don’t think math isn’t creative. It has imaginary numbers after all.)
YOUR FORTE strives to nurture creative people, both young and old, through several layers of offerings and services. You’ll be able to shop for supplies and books. Or attend events like workshops and book signings.
Browse & Buy Books
The lower level is a creative mind space featuring books. The focus of the book selection is on fiction. But you’ll find nonfiction as well. You’ll find something of interest as you browse both new and used books.
This level also includes a reading space and coffee. Have a child attending tutoring? This will be an excellent place to wait. Pass the time with a good book. Exercise your mind with an individual puzzle game or engage in a chess match.

YOUR FORTE offers full-service tutoring through a number of options. Our tutors are licensed teachers and/or have education experience.
Are you a homeschooler needing additional expertise in a subject area? An adult returning to college? Consider how our tutoring service might help you feel more confident and meet your goals.

Individual
- 60 minutes: $50 (tailored to individual needs)
- 30 minutes: $30 (recommended for learning a specific concept)
Small Group (2-5 learners)
- 60 minutes: $30 per learner (focusing on same content)
